Subsea Corrosion Ltd

Is a UK company that specialises in the life extension of both inshore and offshore structures with the application of Cathodic Protection (CP).

Subsea Corrosion Ltd

Provides corrosion investigation and mitigation services to the Oil & Gas, Industrial and Marine sectors to minimise deterioration of assets by metallic corrosion.

Subsea Corrosion Ltd

Aims to provide the best value for money solutions to clients whilst guaranteeing the highest quality service available in the field of Cathodic Protection.

At Subsea Corrosion Ltd. we have a combined experience of over 40 years in corrosion investigation, CP design, application of preventative measures and ongoing CP monitoring.

We specialise in the design and specification of cathodic protection systems, including both galvanic anode and impressed current systems; for offshore platforms, vessels (inc. FPSOs, semi-submersibles), subsea wellheads, manifolds, pipelines etc, inshore harbour piling, jetties, dolphins, dock gates, cofferdams etc, and buried steel structures.

We provide experienced personnel to provide and manage cathodic protection projects, from initial investigation and design through to commissioning, ongoing operation and maintenance and monitoring.

Cathodic Protection (CP) is a technique used to control the corrosion of a steel surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell. This is a simple method of protection, which connects the steel to be protected to a more easily corroded “sacrificial metal”, which acts as the anode. The sacrificial anode then corrodes instead of the protected steel.

In instances where subsea steel structures such as offshore jackets and long pipelines require CP and sacrificial (galvanic) CP is inadequate, an external DC electrical power source is used to provide sufficient current by means of an Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system.

CP systems are used to protect a wide range of steel structures in various environments.
