ABOUT SUBSEA CORROSION LTD

Specialists in Sacrificial Anode and ICCP Systems

At Subsea Corrosion Ltd, we design and implement cost-effective cathodic protection (CP) systems to protect steel structures in harsh marine and offshore environments. Our expertise covers both sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems – delivering tailored solutions that extend asset lifespan, reduce corrosion risk, and minimise maintenance costs.

What Is Cathodic Protection?

Cathodic Protection (CP) is a proven corrosion control technique that safeguards subsea and marine steel structures by turning them into the cathode of an electrochemical cell. This is achieved by attaching a more reactive metal – called a sacrificial anode – which corrodes instead of the steel, preventing damage.

Types of Cathodic Protection Systems

Sacrificial Anode CP Systems

Sacrificial anodes are ideal for many subsea steel structures, including:

  • Offshore platforms and jackets
  • Subsea pipelines and manifolds
  • Coastal and harbour infrastructure

These systems are simple, reliable, and require no external power source.

Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) Systems

When sacrificial anodes are not sufficient – such as on large offshore assets or long pipelines – ICCP systems are used. ICCP delivers protective current via an external DC power supply, offering more control and coverage.

Tailored CP Solutions for Offshore and Subsea Assets

Each subsea structure differs in design, size, and exposure. That’s why our CP solutions are fully customised. We often combine sacrificial anode systems, ICCP technology, and marine-grade coatings to provide maximum corrosion protection.

Why Cathodic Protection Matters

  • Prevents steel corrosion in aggressive marine environments
  • Extends the service life of critical infrastructure
  • Reduces unplanned downtime and expensive repairs
  • Essential for compliance with offshore and marine asset integrity standards

Choose Subsea Corrosion Ltd

With decades of experience in offshore corrosion protection, we’re trusted by clients across the oil & gas, marine, and infrastructure sectors.

INDUSTRY-LEADING CORROSION PROTECTION FROM SUBSEA CORROSION LTD

Our team of qualified CP engineers provide a specialist corrosion protection service, from initial investigation and engineering design, to installation, commissioning, maintenance and ongoing monitoring.

TAILORED HEALTHCARE CONTRACTS

A tailored healthcare contract will ensure that a CP system continues to operate satisfactorily throughout its service life.  Any faults or damage found can be rectified, ensuring no serious corrosion issues occur.  A contract with Subsea Corrosion Ltd ensures that the system will be thoroughly examined and tested by qualified CP engineers at agreed intervals.

PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE UK AND INTERNATIONALLY

We can undertake initial survey work and feasibility studies in order to provide advice on suitable corrosion mitigation solutions.

Subsea Corrosion Ltd can provide on-site assistance during the installation phase of a CP system, working closely with the Client and sub-contractors to provide the highest level of expertise and technical advice.

We advise our clients on only the most suitable CP system, if at all required, providing detailed specifications, design calculations, full construction and As Built drawings, all tailored to suit the clients requirements.

We operate independently of all equipment suppliers ensuring that our advice is completely impartial and focused on providing the optimum solution for each client.
