Subsea Corrosion Ltd are pleased to announce that they have taken collaboration with FORCE Technology Norway AS to the next level by receiving training in the use of FiGS®.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, this was successfully completed remotely, utilising videos and online demonstrations whilst simultaneously running the sensor in a test tank, connected to the logging computer and software.
Subsea Corrosion Ltd engineers are now trained to use the FiGS® technology offshore to gather accurate data for the assessment of the current requirements for the structure, current drains to buried structures, anode current outputs and expected life. In conjunction with CP potential measurements, accurate site data can be assessed and modelled to determine optimised retrofit requirements.
Tim Queen, Director at Subsea Corrosion Ltd said, “This is a milestone achievement for Subsea Corrosion Ltd. Having spent the last 20 years analysing offshore CP data, to have the opportunity to use FiGS ® technology to collect accurate, realtime field gradient data is a real boost. Utilising computer modelling and accurate field data, retrofit requirements can be confidently assessed and planned, saving time and cost and ultimately ensuring our Clients CP requirements are truly met”.
“This is an important step forward for our collaboration with Subsea Corrosion. With their long term experiences in CP surveys and corrosion protection in general this will help us to reach our clients in the UK sector, but also help us mobilising for global clients. The training is quite extensive, so the SSC key personnel strong CP skills made the training very efficient and successful” says Svenn Magne Wigen, Sales Manager at FORCE Technology Norway AS.
